The International Quds Day is a legacy of the Imam Khomaini (QS) who designated the last Friday of the Month of Ramadan a day to globally show solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. Each year on the last Friday of Ramadan, millions of people organizes protest and marches in the street of cities around the globe to voice their support for Palestinians and call for an end to the Zionist regimes’ atrocities and occupations.
IHRC and other organizations that are organising the Quds Day rallies and matches across the global are calling on people to join the new form of global campaign as matches and rallies are replaced with #FlyTheFlag, an online campaign in solidarity with Palestine across the globe. This is because of the novel COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
In line with the call for #FlyTheFlag campaign, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Islamic movement under the leadership of his Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) has resolved to join the Global decision by replacing this year’s Quds Day rallies, marches, demonstrations and protests across the country with #FlyTheFlag campaign.
In Nigeria, the #FlyTheFlag campaign in solidarity with Palestine has already begun and is expected to end on Friday 22nd May, 2020. The followers of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) and all supporters of Palestine in Nigeria are hereby urged to join the Global 2020 Quds day #FlyTheFlag campaign.
